About Me

What comes to your mind when you hear term healthy lifestyle? In the past, my answer would have been very generic; fruits and vegetables, walking, running and biking. Over the past few years, I have found that while a healthy lifestyle does involve exercise and diet, it is much more complex than that. In my blog I will be posting about my steps towards building a healthy lifestyle, but first I wanted to share a little bit more about me.

I am a non-traditional student at the University of Maine studying Early Childhood Education. I returned to school in the fall of 2014, a little over three years after graduating from White Mountains Community College in Berlin, New Hampshire, with an associates degree in Baking and Pastry.  I now live in Holden, Maine, with my two year old Border Collie, Maizy. I also work at Hannaford Supermarkets in Bangor, Maine.

At the end of August 2015, I committed to a gluten and soy free diet. In addition to changing the way I eat, I  am gradually taking small steps to a healthier state of mind. I personally have struggled with time management for most of my life. I am a messy, unorganized person by nature, and my lack of initiative to change what I could was causing me much more stress than was necessary. I have dedicated time to organization over the past month and have found it is a great contributor to living the life you want.
