Fitting exercise into a busy day can be difficult, and sometimes it has to take priority over other things going on in life.  Because I have a dog who needs exercise, it makes more sense for me to get my exercise outdoors where I can bring her with me rather than at a gym. I am always trying to find new places to walk so that I don't get bored easily. One of my favorite places to go is the Bangor city
Forest. It's so peaceful and accessible year round. Dogs are allowed everywhere except for the bog trail, and there are many trails to explore. The main trails are plowed in the winter time, but many of the other trails are reserved for skiing and snow shoeing.

Because of the many trails, I recommend bringing a map with you the first time you go. You can print a map and find other information here: http://cityforest.bangorinfo.com/

The Bangor Waterfront is also a great place to walk. Early in the morning or late in the evening it can be peaceful, but if you go in the middle of the day there sometimes are events going on. If you live in or near downtown Bangor, it is a very convenient location for daily walks.

If you enjoy walking outdoors, these are great places to visit.

The most difficult part about eating healthy is the time that it takes. Right now, because I work 25 to 30 hours a week while in school full time,  there are several products that I eat every week. Below are five different foods, either snacks or meals that don't take much (if any) time to prepare.

Larabar Gluten Free Fruit & Nut Food Bar, Coconut Cream Pie, 16 - 1.7 Ounce BarsLARABARS
When I discovered larabars I might as well have been discovering a gold mine. After trying several different kinds I ended up buying the coconut cream larabars in bulk off of amazon. I always keep one in my pocket book so that I will have something to snack on.

Even though I make most foods from scratch, I think it's important to have some healthy foods tucked away in the freezer for really busy nights. These street tacos from Evol Foods are delicious and quick. I couldn't believe the amount of flavor that was packed into the tacos. They come in a variety of flavors. The shredded chicken and caramelized onion tacos are the only variety that is gluten and soy free, so I usually stick to those. Every once in a while, though I have to cheat and have the Korean Beef and Kimchi tacos. They are perfect!

GUACAMOLE
I love that you can buy guacamole in individual packs now. It great to pack in a lunch, and you don't have to worry about a container spoiling before you can finish it.  Wholly Guacamole makes both four and six packs.

SNACK PACK
Hannaford makes several different snack packs in their produce department. Some have grapes and cheese, and others are assortments of just fruits or just vegetables. They are a great snack to grab when you are in a hurry. The best part is that they are priced at only $1.99. They also have smaller portions of fruit packaged up that sell for 99 cents.

SO DELICIOUS ICE CREAM
So Delicious makes dairy free ice creams that taste great. All of their ice creams are also gluten and soy free. My favorite is Mocha Almond Fudge, but there are a ton of flavors to choose from.
